Colts coach Shane Steichen said CB Charvarius Ward (concussion) has cleared protocol and will be activated from injured reserve.
Ward sustained his concussion in pre-game warmups ahead of Week 6’s game with the Cardinals. His return should give the Colts a lot of versatility at cornerback as they can now boast a triumvirate of Sauce Gardner, Ward, and Kenny Moore.
  • IND Cornerback #7
Colts CB Charvarius Ward (concussion) practiced fully on Thursday.
Ward is firmly on track to play in Week 12 against the Colts. The Colts’ secondary has been banged up this year, so Ward’s return is a positive occurrence. Colts slot CB Kenny Moore II is also fully healthy after dealing with an Achilles injury for much of the year.
  • IND Cornerback #7
Colts opened the 21-day practice window for CB Charvarius Ward (concussion).
Ward sustained a concussion during pre-game warmups ahead of the Colts’ Week 6 game against Arizona and was placed on injured reserve. He could suit up as soon as this week against the Chiefs if he clears the NFL’s concussion protocol and gets the green light from Colts trainers. Ward will be a welcome addition to a Colts secondary that has struggled of late.
  • IND Cornerback #7
Colts placed CB Charvarius Ward (concussion) on injured reserve.
Ward suffered a concussion in pre-game warmups in Week 6 and has now been placed on injured reserve, marking a massive blow to the secondary in Indianapolis. The freak accident will keep him out of the game-day lineup for the next four games, at minimum.
  • IND Cornerback #7
Colts CB Charvarius Ward (concussion) is inactive for Week 6 against the Cardinals.
Ward suffered a concussion in pre-game warmups and is out against the Cardinals. Rookie UDFA Johnathan Edwards is starting in his place for an already banged-up Colts secondary.
  • IND Cornerback #7
Colts CB Charvarius Ward (concussion) is active for Week 3 against the Titans.
Ward missed Week 2 after going down in the opener but is thankfully ready to return after a one-game absence. He has a DB’s dream matchup in the Titans’ struggling passing attack. Inactive for the Colts are QB Riley Leonard, TE Will Mallory, LB Chad Muma, OT Luke Tenuta and EDGE JT Tuimoloau.
  • IND Defensive End #97
Colts EDGE Laiatu Latu (hamstring) was removed from the injury report and will play in Week 3 against the Titans.
Latu sat out in Week 2 and managed just one quarterback pressure in Week 1. He’ll attempt to get back on track against a Titans offensive line missing OT JC Latham (hip). Colts CB (concussion) is questionable to play despite practicing in full all week.
  • IND Defensive End #97
Colts EDGE Laiatu Latu (hamstring) practiced in full on Thursday.
It’s an upgrade from Wednesday’s limited session and Latu would seem likely to play against the Titans in Week 3. Every Colts EDGE player will want a chance at Cam Ward, who has been sacked 11 times in two starts so far. CB Charvarius Ward (concussion) also practiced in full. Both players have a chance at not being on the team’s final injury report at this rate.
  • IND Cornerback #7
Colts CB Charvarius Ward (concussion) returned to practice Wednesday.
Ward did not practice last week because of his concussion and was ruled out on Friday. A return on Wednesday puts him in line to suit up for Week 3, but the veteran corner will still need to clear the league’s concussion protocol before being given the green light. Fellow Indy defender Laiatu Latu was also spotted at practice. The second-year EDGE missed Week 2 with a hamstring injury. Getting both players back for Week 3 would be a big win for a Colts defense that just gave up 28 points to the Broncos.
  • IND Defensive End #97
Colts declared EDGE Laiatu Latu, CB Charvarius Ward, RB Tyler Goodson, QB Riley Leonard, TE Will Mallory and OT Luke Tenuta inactive for Week 2 against the Broncos.
Latu is sidelined by a hamstring injury and Ward failed to clear the NFL’s concussion protocol. Both absences should make life easier on the Broncos’ passing offense. Goodson is rehabbing an elbow injury that kept him sidelined in Week 1. He practiced in a limited capacity on Wednesday and Thursday before practicing in full on Friday, which seemingly put him on track to play. His inactive status suggests rookie RB DJ Giddens has already sewn up the No. 2 running back role behind Jonathan Taylor.
