Chris Lacy caught 2-of-7 targets for 12 yards in the Lions’ Week 17 loss to the Packers.
Lacy recorded his first and only NFL catch in Week 15 against the Buccaneers. The former undrafted free agent will be fighting for a roster spot somewhere in 2020, as things will be crowded in Detroit once Marvin Jones heals up. While Lacy does possess solid size (6-foot-3 and 205-pounds), there are real athleticism concerns (10th-percentile SPARQ-x athlete) along with little proven ability to dominate at any level of football.

Lions WR Chris Lacy hauled in a 48-yard catch in Week 15 against the Buccaneers.
Lacy got the start in place of Marvin Jones (knee, IR) and ran himself open for a 48-yard grab to help setup Wes Hills’ (10/21/2) second touchdown of the afternoon. Lacy doesn’t offer any value for fantasy, but the Lions could use his explosiveness for help over their last two games.
  • FA Wide Receiver
Lions signed WR/ST Marvin Hall and released WR Chris Lacy.
Hall will be a special teamer in Week 3 against the Eagles. The Lions also added DE Johnathan Wynn to the practice squad.
  • Wide Receiver
Lions placed WR Chris Lacy (leg) on the active/PUP list.
This comes as a surprise after Lacy got some first-team reps at minicamp. He can be activated at any time, but this isn’t a great start for a player on the roster bubble. Lacy is competing for Detroit’s No. 5 receiver job.
  • Wide Receiver
Second-year WR Chris Lacy was one of the standouts of Lions’ OTAs.
Lacy repped with the first-team offense with Kenny Golladay and Marvin Jones sidelined. He went undrafted in 2018, but the Lions are hoping they can tap into Lacy’s developmental upside. Lacy has the early edge for Detroit’s No. 5 receiver job.

    Patriots waived WR Chris Lacy.
The Patriots needed to clear a roster spot for OG Jason King. Lacy lasted just two weeks in New England after going undrafted out of Oklahoma State. He was always a long shot to make the team with Julian Edelman, Chris Hogan, Jordan Matthews, Malcolm Mitchell and Phillip Dorsett blocking him at wide receiver. Look for him to catch on elsewhere as camp depth.

Patriots signed Oklahoma State WR Chris Lacy.
Lacy (6’3/205) was a part-time receiver at Oklahoma State, logging a career 63/920/14.6/5 receiving line behind James Washington and Marcell Ateman. Lacy tested like a big slot receiver at the Combine with 4.51 speed and a 10-foot broad jump. Lacy improved to 4.44 at the Cowboys’ Pro Day, but he posted an especially sluggish 7.29 three-cone time. A backup in the Big 12, Lacy would do quite well to become anything more than a backup in the NFL.

Lions claimed WR Chris Lacy off waivers.
An undrafted rookie out of Oklahoma State, Lacy was waived by the Patriots last week. A big body (6’3/205) with good speed (4.51), Lacy has some developmental upside. The Lions waived CB Josh Okonye in a corresponding move.
