Chris Pizzotti and Noah Shepard will battle for the Packers No. 3 quarterback job.
Pizzotti spent the last four weeks of last season on the Packers’ practice squad, while Shepard is an undrafted rookie out of South Dakota who was signed immediately after April’s draft. Neither projects as a particularly exciting No. 3 option behind Aaron Rodgers and Matt Flynn.
  • GB Quarterback
    Packers waived QB Chris Pizzotti.
Though Graham Harrell’s addition was bound to cost someone a spot, this move is surprising because Pizzotti knew the offense better than both Harrell and Noah Shepard. Shepard and Harrell are left to battle to be third string.

Packers signed RB Kregg Lumpkin, CB D.J. Clark, TE Tom Crabtree, OG Stanley Daniels, LB Robert Francois, WR Khalil Jones, QB Chris Pizzotti, and DE Ronald Talley to reserve/future contracts.
All of the above spent the year on Green Bay’s practice squad. Lumpkin showed some promise as a third-down back in 2009 training camp and will push for a roster spot this summer behind Ryan Grant and Brandon Jackson.
