Rams waived RB Quinn Porter, DB Nate Ness, DT John Henderson, TE DeMarco Cosby, and CB Chris Smith.
Teams can carry 90 men on the offseason roster and the Rams might be the most talent-poor club in football, so these moves bode poorly for these players’ long-term outlooks. Porter, a former undrafted rookie running back out of Stillman College, saw some time on St. Louis’ active roster last season.
  • LA Defensive Back #36
Rams promoted CB Chris Smith from the practice squad.
An undrafted rookie out of Northern Illinois, Smith will provide depth in St. Louis’ injury ravaged secondary, but should see most of his snaps on special teams. He has never before appeared in an NFL game.
  • LA Defensive Back #36
Rams waived CB Chris Sims and signed WR Jared Jenkins.
Jenkins will be buried on a deep receiver depth chart. Smith was an undrafted rookie from Northern Illinois. He hurt his knee in last weekend’s scrimmage.
