  • WAS Cornerback #34
Former Missouri redshirt senior CB Christian Holmes committed to an Oklahoma State graduate transfer.
Holmes (6'0/200) threw his name into the NCAA transfer portal near the end of January. Less than a month later, he has settled on his new home. As a graduate transfer, the redshirt senior will be eligible to play with the Cowboys immediately in 2020. The former three-star recruit drew 12 starts combined over the past two campaigns. Holmes’ sharpest showing with Missouri came in 2018, when he logged 36 tackles (1.5 for loss), a pair of interceptions and 12 passes defensed. Consider this a rock-solid addition for the Cowboys as they look to make good on what’s been a nice amount of early winter hype for their 2020 prospects in the Big 12.

Missouri redshirt senior CB Christian Holmes entered the transfer portal.
He’s doing so as a grad, granting him immediate eligibility to play elsewhere. A former three-star recruit, Holmes started 12 games over the previous two years. The 6-foot-1, 200-pounder skips town as Eli Drinkwitz moves in. Drinkwitz takes over for Barry Odom, who was fired after this past season.
  • WAS Cornerback #34
Missouri redshirt junior CB Christian Holmes allowed the lowest completion percentage in 2018 among returning SEC corners.
Holmes (6'1/2000) allowed just 40% of his coverage targets to be caught, narrowly edging out Auburn’s Noah Igbinoghene, LSU’s Kristian Fulton, and Mississippi State’s Cameron Dantzler for the SEC’s top spot. After seeing close to zero playing time through two seasons, Holmes broke out as a redshirt sophomore with 12 pass deflections and two interceptions. If he can lock down SEC receivers in 2019, Holmes is a candidate for an early NFL declaration.
