2009 practice squad WR Clarence Denmark made a positive impression at Jaguars OTAs last week.
Denmark, who spent the final two years of his college career at Arkansas-Monticello (don’t worry, we hadn’t heard of it either) after transferring from Troy, is a Jacksonville native. “He’s put himself in a position to legitimately contend for a roster spot, so I think he’s done a nice job,” coach Jack Del Rio said. Even though the Jags are thin at wideout, Denmark still has a very long way to go to make the team, let alone get playing time.
  • LA Running Back
Jaguars signed RB Allen Patrick, WR Clarence Denmark, and OG Cameron Stephenson to reserve/futures contracts.
All three spent time on the Jags’ practice squad this season. Patrick, a slow-footed back out of Oklahoma, has bounced around the league since the Ravens drafted him in the 2008 seventh round.
  • FA Wide Receiver #83
Jaguars waived WR John Matthews, WR Clarence Denmark, DT Walter Curry, OT Daniel Baldridge, and TE Mike Caussin.
Matthews posted ridiculous stats at D-1AA San Diego, but he’s lacking NFL talent. Denmark, undrafted out of Troy, is a candidate for the practice squad.
