''I got hot I guess and I just passed out. I don’t really know,’' Spencer said. ''I walked over there and said I needed some water. I just couldn’t cool down and I passed out.’'

He’s listed as an end, the position he was drafted at, on the Jets’ official team site. Wadsworth is competing against the likes of Matt Chatham and Cody Spencer for a roster spot. He’d be helped greatly if Eric Barton is released.

The Lions plan to try third-round pick DeAndre Levy at middle linebacker this offseason.

Levy has plus range and will be an IDP sleeper if he beats out career special teamer Cody Spencer. The Lions are still considering using Jordon Dizon inside on passing downs, though, so Levy might not be a three-down player.

“We’re going to need a big thumper,” Schwartz admitted. “I mean, a strong thumper in the middle for base defense” Cody Spencer is currently penciled in as the starter, but the Lions are sure to address the position in the draft.
