Browns agreed to terms with P Corey Bojorquez on a one-year contract.
Bojorquez, who sports one of the NFL’s biggest legs, will remain in Cleveland for a third season after stints with the Packers and Bills. In 2023, Bojorquez was fourth among all punters in net punting yards and fifth in punts inside the 20 yard line.
  • Browns signed P Corey Bojorquez, formerly of the Packers.
Bojorquez spent 2021 with Green Bay after three seasons with the Bills. One of the bigger legs in the league, he should be Cleveland’s starter in 2022. Bojorquez averaged 46.5 yards per punt in 2021, the 16th highest mark in the NFL.

  • Packers acquired P Corey Bojorquez from the Rams.
JK Scott will be waived. Bojorquez actually has one of the biggest legs in the league, but punters sometimes get stuck in salary limbo. He should keep the Packers’ starting gig all season.

Rams placed P Johnny Hekker on the reserve/COVID-19 list.
They also placed P Corey Bojorquez on the COVID list. It’s unclear if Hekker and Bojorquez actually tested positive or if they’re just close contacts. Either way, the Rams are without a punter for their preseason game tonight against the Raiders. There is still plenty of time before the season, so the most likely scenario is that both players are good to go for Week 1. For tonight, the Rams will either have to find an alternate punting option or go for it every time.

  • Rams signed P Corey Bojorquez, formerly of the Bills.
Bojorquez led the league in yards per punt last year but will be forced to compete with Rams veteran Johnny Hekker for the starting gig and a roster spot. Despite averaging 5.2 fewer yards per punt last season, it’s hard to see the Rams moving on from Hekker. He has been with the organization for nearly a decade and still has three years left on his contract. The Athletic’s Jourdan Rodrigue noted that the Rams now have three punters on the roster which will be a big help in allowing them to get returners more reps during the summer.
