McCants

The Redskins didn’t play him anyway. It’s possible the team will look to McCants to ignite the offense, but that’s a longshot.

The TD machine from a year ago isn’t likely to climb over No. 4 receiver.

He made more plays in one quarter last week than Rod Gardner or Taylor Jacobs do all game. Plus he has chemistry with Patrick Ramsey, “Patrick understands where I like the ball, and nine times out of 10 he’s going to put it in the right spot,” McCants said. He’s a sleeper pickup in very deep leagues.

Look for Washington to rebuild their wide receiver group, starting with McCants and Rod Gardner.

The talented receiver caught six TDs among his 27 receptions last season. McCants is currently the No. 3 or No. 4 receiver in Washington, assuming Rod Gardner is not traded.

The Eagles also started WR Reggie Brown and added WR Hank Baskett on the second play. On the game’s first play, McCants forced a 33-yard pass-interference penalty on Ravens CB Samari Rolle. Brown finished with just a five-yard reception, while McCants and Baskett put up goose eggs.

He’s in Joe Gibbs’ doghouse.

The TD threat could still win the No. 3 receiver role in Washington, but still is far from draftable.

McCants should provide quality depth, but he’s a long way from mattering in redraft fantasy leagues.
