Former Browns DE David McMillan was reportedly shot and killed in Georgia over the weekend.
Per Fox Sports Ohio, 31-year-old McMillan was killed in an apparent robbery attempt. McMillan played college ball at Kansas and was a fifth-round pick in the 2005 draft. He spent three years with Cleveland, mostly playing special teams.
  • CLE Defensive Lineman
Browns signed defensive end David McMillan, a fifth-round pick, to a four-year contact.
McMillan is more of a hybrid linebacker due to his size and quickness. He’s a project that’ll most likely start out on special teams.
  • CLE Wide Receiver
Browns WR Joe Jurevicius, LB Antwan Peek and LB David McMillan all underwent post-season knee surgery, while OL Isaac Sowells had shoulder surgery to repair a torn rotator cuff.
Most of the work can be considered offseason “maintenance,” with the exception of Sowells’ torn rotator cuff. None of the surgeries are expected to affect the respective players’ availability for next season.
  • CLE Tight End
Browns released TEs Brad Cieslak and Kolomana Kapanui, WRs Lance Leggett and Steve Sanders, CBs A.J. Davis and Jereme Perry, S Travis Key and Brandon Mitchell, LBs Chase Ortiz and David McMillan, OT James Lee, and K Jason Reda.
Formerly of the Bills, Cieslak will try to catch on as a third tight end elsewhere.
