Wright, out of New Mexico, saw his draft stock slide when he suffered two shoulder injuries as a senior. He’s a big long shot to earn a roster spot in New York at cornerback. Along with fellow rookie Stoney Woodson, Wright is auditioning for the practice squad and other teams this preseason.

Wright was the Giants’ sixth-round pick this year. He could land on the practice squad.

It’s a bad sign for Wright that he can’t make it on the corner-needy Vikings. The 2009 sixth-rounder won’t garner too much interest on the open market.
