Winn

The Rams let go of Winn, along with 10 others, as they work their way toward the final 53-player roster. Waived alongside Winn are TE McCallan Castles, S Malik Dixon-Williams, OL Ben Dooley, DL Decarius Hawthorne, OG John Leglue, C Mike McAllister, OLB Josh Pearcy, DL Da’Jon Terry and OL Trey Wedig. The Rams released OG John Leglue and LB Tony Fields II.

With the Rams signing Carson Wentz to back-up Matthew Stafford, they released QBs Brett Rypien and Dresser Winn. Rypien struggled in a spot start for Stafford in Week 9, while Winn was promoted from the practice squad for the week. Myles Gaskin also gets cut loose after a few weeks with the team. Kyren Williams is slated to return soon and Gaskin is no longer needed for depth.

Winn getting added to the roster is a bad sign for Matthew Stafford, who is listed as questionable. Winn will back up Brett Rypien if Stafford sits.
