    Colts waived QB Drew Willy.
Willy’s promotion off the practice squad last week marked a sure sign that Peyton Manning was going to rest. Now that the perfect season is over, we know that Manning is going to play a quarter at most. Look for Willy to be re-signed to the practice squad shortly.
  • LAC Quarterback
Colts signed QB Drew Willy, OG Jaimie Thomas, WR Taj Smith, WR John Matthews, LB Brandon Renkart, and CB Terrail Lambert to futures contracts.
These players will be offseason practice bodies for the most part, although Thomas does have potential to be an impact lineman. He would have been drafted in 2009 had he not been injured as a senior at Maryland. Lambert was never much of a cover corner at Notre Dame, but can play special teams.
  • LAC Quarterback
Jets signed QB Drew Willy and P T.J. Conley to reserve/future contracts.
Willy was the most prolific passer in University of Buffalo history, throwing passes to the Bills’ Naaman Roosevelt. He spent time with the Ravens and Colts before playing with the UFL’s Las Vegas Locomotives.
  • LAC Quarterback
    Jets waived QB Drew Willy.
A former undrafted free agent out of Buffalo, Willy is expected to go on the Jets’ practice squad once he clears waivers. (And he should.) Willy took three sacks and completed 9-of-17 passes in New York’s preseason finale.
