It looks like he’ll be ready for this weekend. The Bucs need him versus the Seahawks.

The Bucs are hopeful he’ll be ready. Their defense looked solid in week one.

Tampa Bay will definitely be without fellow starter Jermaine Phillips.

The new coaching staff in New Orleans wants Smith, the former Buc, out. Smith can play both cornerback and safety and fits best in a cover two. The Tampa Tribune believes a deal will happen eventually, but perhaps not until training camp.

Bryan Scott (via trade), Omar Stoutmire (via free agency), and Roman Harper (via the draft) were added this offseason. Someone is likely to be off the roster before the start of the season.

Police received a phone call from a woman who was found in a stairwell with Smith around 1:30 AM Central Time. Minnesota signed Smith to a three-year deal after he was released by the Saints just prior to training camp.

Smith was disciplined for his recent arrest on charges of indecent conduct. Rookie Greg Blue started his place.

Two men approached his car while he waited on line at a McDonald’s drive-through. Smith pointed the gun at the two men who walked up to his car, but did not shoot. Then a passenger in Smith’s car then punched one of the men and was charged with battery. People just can’t wait for those McGriddles.
