Ekuban

Ekuban has made a number of mental mistakes, but has made plenty of big plays. It’s quite a turnaround from his miserable 2003 season in Dallas.

Ekuban was signed from Dallas earlier in the offseason.

Ekuban is recovering from a torn Achilles. Denver may up their offer to him just to keep him away from Al Davis.

Ekuban, 33 in May, posted five sacks in 10 starts last season. He would be a potential replacement for Kalimba Edwards as a situational pass rusher off the bench.

Denver’s hijack of Cleveland’s defensive line would appear to be complete. Two defensive ends, two defensive tackles and the line coach. Three of the four players are former first rounders, perhaps the thin air will do them good.

Ekuban, who came to the Broncos from Cleveland, has struggled with a shoulder injury this offseason. He’s doubtful to start.

The former Dallas disappointment managed to post eight sacks in Cleveland last season. He’ll probably rotate with Courtney Brown this season.

He sat out Tuesday’s session. After he failed to redo his contract this offseason and the Broncos selected defensive ends with their first two draft picks, Lang’s roster spot could be in jeopardy. Lang, John Engelberger, and Ebenezer Ekuban appear to be battling for one or two spots on the club.

Ekuban was carted off the field. The severity of the injury is unknown.

The loss of the speedy Ekuban hits Denver’s defense hard. He be will likely be replaced by rookie Jarvis Moss.
