Tests conducted Tuesday did not reveal a stress fracture, but Wakefield underwent further examination Wednesday morning. Results of that examination revealed a stress fracture and he will be out six to eight weeks.

Wakefield had his leg put in a splint and was taken off the field in a cart. He had been competing for the third tight end position with Tony Stewart.
