Lions WR Glenn Martinez is reportedly very likely to make the final roster.
Mike Martz reportedly loves Martinez, a veteran of NFL Europe who will also play specials. Martinez as a roster lock would make it much tougher for Scottie Vines to make final 53-man roster.

    Lions waived WR Glenn Martinez.
It was a wild ride. The Lions don’t need Martinez with Charles Rogers and possibly Roy Williams returning this week.
  • BAL Wide Receiver #80
Brandon Stokley will start at wideout for Denver in Week 5.
Stokley has been efficient in a slot receiver role for the Broncos, and with San Diego struggling in the secondary, is looking like a decent PPR WR3. Former practice squad wideout Glenn Martinez will work from the slot.

Broncos WR Glenn Martinez caught six passes for 70 yards in Week 5.
Martinez began the game as Denver’s slot receiver, but wound up playing starter’s snaps when Brandon Stokley exited with a head injury. Martinez will go back to being a fourth receiver if Javon Walker returns in Week 7.

Javon Walker will undergo arthroscopic knee surgery Friday and be out for “a few weeks,” Broncos coach Mike Shanahan announced Thursday. The Denver Post reports Walker will likely be out four weeks.
This is a crushing blow to Denver’s offense and the cause of Jay Cutler. Brandon Stokley moves into Walker’s starting split end spot, with practice squader Glenn Martinez sliding into the third receiver role. While Walker is young, it’s a huge concern that Walker is having trouble with the knee he reconstructed in 2005. Arthroscopic knee surgery often takes 2-3 weeks to return from, so the Post’s timeline makes us wonder if something more is involved.

Glenn Martinez returned a punt 80 yards for a touchdown in Week 11.
Martinez later fumbled a punt, but he deserves his own Rotoworld blurb for the great block he made on Brandon Stokley’s touchdown. Enjoy it, Glenn!

Glenn Martinez started Thursday night’s game over Javon Walker.
NFL Network’s Adam Schefter reported before the game that Walker would start. Martinez returned punts and hauled in just one pass for 17 yards.

Broncos S John Lynch (stinger) was limited in practice on Wednesday.
The Broncos are taking a cautious approach with Lynch, who “experienced some tingling in his hands last week” and he could be a game-time decision. DE John Engelberger (shoulder) sat out practice. WR and punt returner Glenn Martinez (bruised ribs) practiced and is expected to play against the Chiefs.
