Packers placed EDGE Rashan Gary (knee) on the active/PUP list.
Green Bay also placed Jeff Cotton, Jake Hanson, and Eric Stokes on the PUP list. Grant DuBose and Camren McDonald were placed on the non-football injury list. Gary suffered a torn ACL in Week 9 last year and has been working off to the side during practices so far. It’s possible he’s ready for Week 1, though that remains up in the air. If the Packers don’t remove him from the PUP list before roster cutdowns, they will have to place him on the reserve/PUP list, sidelining him for at least the first four weeks of the season.
  • GB Tackle #76
Packers LG Jon Runyan (illness) is questionable to return in Week 9 against the Chiefs.
Runyan left the game in the second quarter and did not return before halftime. The 2020 sixth round pick is graded by Pro Football Focus as the Packers’ worst run blocking offensive lineman this year. Jake Hanson has taken over for Runyan at left guard.

  • NO Cornerback #27
Packers declared CB Shemar Jean-Charles, C Jake Hanson, DL Jack Heflin, LB Isaiah McDuffie, and S Vernon Scott inactive for Week 1 against New Orleans.
The Packers go into Week 1 at full health against a Saints defense missing some key players. They’ll play an “away” game against the Saints in Jacksonville while New Orleans recovers from Hurricane Ida.

  • FA Center #67
Packers signed No. 208 overall pick C Jake Hanson to a four-year contract.
Hanson (6’4/303) was a four-year starting center at Oregon who earned an All-Pac 12 honorable mention every season. His experience and competitiveness put him on the NFL’s radar, but he’s a well below-average athlete. He ran the 40-yard dash in 5.50 seconds and lacked the strength to be put in one-on-one situations on tape. Hanson will compete for a final roster spot this offseason as a 23-year-old rookie.

Packers selected Oregon C Jake Hanson with the No. 208 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.
Hanson (6’4/303) was a four-year starting center at Oregon who earned an All-Pac 12 honorable mention every season. His experience and competitiveness have him on the NFL’s radar, but he’s a well below-average athlete. He ran the 40-yard dash in 5.50 seconds and lacked the strength to be put in one-on-one situations on tape. Hanson will compete for a final roster spot this offseason as a 23-year-old rookie. It’s clear the Packers made offensive line depth a priority over receiver depth in this draft.
