Panthers declared TE Tommy Tremble, TE Feleipe Franks, LT Ikem Ekwonu, OLB DJ Johnson, CB Shemar Bartholomew and S Jammie Robinson inactive for Week 9 against the Saints.
Tremble was listed as questionable with a back injury, but won’t be able to go against the New Orleans defense. That should lead to more snaps — and hopefully more targets — for Ja’Tavion Sanders.
  • CAR Wide Receiver #5
Panthers declared WR Diontae Johnson, QB Andy Dalton, S Jammie Robinson, CB Dane Johnson, CB Shemar Bartholomew, T Yosh Nijman and DE Jonathan Harris inactive for Week 8 against the Broncos.
As expected, Johnson and Dalton will miss the game against the Broncos with their injuries. The Panthers do get starting defensive end A’Shawn Robinson, outside linebacker Jadeveon Clowney and Josey Jewell back to help the Carolina defense for the Week 8 tilt.
  • CAR Safety #22
Panthers selected Florida State S Jammie Robinson with the No. 145 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.
Robinson (5’11/191) spent his first two seasons at South Carolina where he logged the majority of his reps in the slot to take advantage of his tenacity around the line of scrimmage and short-area mirroring ability. He thrived in the role, playing 670 recording 62 tackles and five PBU, and a scintillating 90.7 PFF tackling grade en route to receiving freshman All-SEC accolades. However, after HC Will Muschamp was replaced by current HC Shane Beamer, Robinson opted to transfer to Florida State for a fresh start. It was a prescient decision, with Robinson recording a gaudy 183 tackles, 12.0 TFL, 13 PBU, and five interceptions over his two seasons with the Noles, earning First-Team All-ACC recognition in each. His role changed last season, with the Second Team All-American logging 76% of his snaps at either free safety or in the box as opposed to his previously slot-heavy role. The move allowed Robinson to showcase his toughness near the line and notable ability to sift through traffic and bring down ball carriers, as his 7.3 career missed tackle rate backs up. He’s pretty small for box work in the NFL and will likely put his 6.89 3-Cone (85th percentile) and 1.51 10-yard split (98th percentile) to use by harassing slot receivers as a versatile nickel back who can also drop back to single-high when called upon.

  • CAR Safety #22
Former South Carolina DB Robinson transferred to Florida State.
Robinson (5'11/195) was one of South Carolina’s most productive defenders this season, as he accounted for 74 total tackles (47 solo, 2.0 for loss), four pass breakups and one interception. He is the third Gamecock defensive back to leave the program with eligibility remaining since the end of the season, as Jaycee Horn and Israel Mukuamu both decided to turn pro. Robinson will have three seasons of eligibility remaining with the Seminoles.

  • CAR Safety #22
South Carolina signed four-star 2019 S Jammie Robinson.
Robinson (5'11/190) and South Carolina have gone through a long, long courtship, with the Leesburg, Georgia, native very nearly taking the commitment plunge with the Gamecocks a year ago before opting to keep his recruitment open. The two parties are finally, finally moving past footsie. He plays with a grinder mentality and brings to the table an uber-competitive personality. Rivals ranks Robinson as the No. 24 safety prospect in the 2019 class.
