He should be fine for offseason workouts. He and Zach Thomas are two Miami defenders in no danger of getting cut.

He’s missed practice for five days. Back injuries are so fickle, the Dolphins will do what they can to protect Taylor in August. Keep an eye on this injury.

He wasn’t 100%, but it’s a good sign he was on the field after Taylor missed five days of work.

Taylor’s back troubles have flared up again. Also inactive for the game will be WR Marty Booker (calf) and CB Travis Daniels (ankle).

He missed about a week, including Miami’s first preseason game.

Taylor was everywhere tonight, recording six tackles, one interception, and a sack.

He’s in the locker room getting X-rays.

Barring a change of heart, Sunday’s game against the Jets will be the last in Taylor’s 15-year career. It’s a mild surprise considering his play has improved this season and he hasn’t missed a game since 2008. Taylor’s 139 1/2 career sacks are good for sixth all time, he went to the Pro Bowl six times and was named the 2006 Defensive Player of the Year. Taylor will be 38 in September.

“After 15 years of doing this and 13 here in Miami, unfortunately and fortunately, this will be my last game as a Miami Dolphin,” Taylor said. Sunday’s game will be the 233rd of Taylor’s career, and come against one of the two other teams he played for besides the Dolphins. Of Taylor’s 139.5 career sacks, which are good for sixth all time, 131 have come in a Dolphins uniform. A future in T.V. probably awaits the likely future Hall-of-Famer.

San Francisco’s O-line gets worse every week. Taylor has 7.5 sacks on the season.
