Cowboys hired Redskins DL coach Jim Tomsula.
Tomsula will continue coaching defensive linemen as he’s done for over a decade. The former-49ers head coach is regarded as one of the better DL coaches in the league. He’ll be tasked with transforming solid talent into production. Tomsula will be working under coach Mike McCarthy and DC Mike Nolan.

NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reports ex-49ers coach Jim Tomsula is being “targeted” to be on Cowboys coach Mike McCarthy’s staff.
The report doesn’t specify which coaching staff position Tomsula is being targeted for, but Tomsula has been a DL coach for 12 seasons across two NFL franchises. Tomsula also was the 49ers head coach for one hilarious season back in 2015. Any spot on the Cowboys coaching staff is an attractive one with star players scattered on both sides of the ball. Dallas just needs to turn that talent into more production. The Cowboys were 11th in points allowed and had below-average sack totals last year.

The Vikings will interview 49ers DL coach Jim Tomsula for their head-coaching vacancy Saturday.
Tomsula has been the 49ers’ DL coach for the past seven seasons. He served as interim head coach for the final game of the 2010 season after Mike Singletary was fired and led San Francisco to a 38-7 win over the Cardinals. Tomsula has also been the head coach of the Rhein Fire of NFL Europe back in the day. The Vikings are also interviewing 49ers OC Greg Roman Saturday.

The Browns did “background work” on 49ers DL coach Jim Tomsula last week, and ESPN’s Bill Williamson reports Tomsula “potentially could become a candidate” for Cleveland’s head-coaching vacancy.
Tomsula received an interview for the Vikings’ head-coaching job earlier in January, but wasn’t a finalist. The Browns’ coaching search seems to be going nowhere fast, with no candidate emerging from the crowd. Tomsula does have some head-coaching experience, serving as the Niners’ interim head man for a single game after Mike Singletary’s 2010 firing.

Redskins hired ex-49ers coach Jim Tomsula as DL coach.
Tomsula sat out the 2016 season as he was still collecting a salary from the 49ers following his dismissal as head coach after one season. Prior to that, Tomsula was one of the most respected defensive line coaches in the league, coaching the 49ers’ unit for eight seasons. He’s a good get for the Skins.

According to Matt Barrows of the Sacramento Bee, former 49ers coach Jim Tomsula is on the Redskins’ “radar.”
The Redskins are in the process of filling out their coaching staff after losing two of their coordinators in the last week. It’s unclear what position they’re considering Tomsula for, though we’re guessing it would be as some sort of defensive assistant. Tomsula was out of the league last season after leading San Francisco to a disappointing 5-11 finish in 2015.

Former 49ers coach Jim Tomsula is interviewing for the position of Saints DL coach.
He had previously garnered some attention from Washington, but never had a formal interview. Tomsula was out of his element as a head coach but was successful during his eight-year run as the Niners’ DL coach. Bill Johnson held that position for the Saints last year but was fired after the season and has already caught on with the Rams.

The 49ers lost an NFL-high 37 percent of their player snaps from 2014.
Patrick Willis, Chris Borland, Justin Smith, Bubba Ventrone and Anthony Davis all retired. They also lost Mike Iupati, Frank Gore and Chris Culliver among others in free agency. Furthermore, the Niners have just seven of the 22 starters remaining from the team that got beat by the Ravens in the Super Bowl three seasons ago. Their 2015 win total has sunk as low as 6.5 at some offshore sportsbooks.

49ers fired head coach Jim Tomsula.
Head coaches getting fired after one year on the job while the (ineffective) GM sits atop the totem pole with full control is an obvious sign of dysfunction at 49ers headquarters. The primary reason the 49ers have collapsed has been poor personnel selection, which is on GM Trent Baalke. Tomsula, of course, never should’ve gotten the 49ers’ head coaching job in the first place. He should resurface in his natural D-Line coaching role in short order.

Pro Football Talk reports the 49ers are expected to fire Jim Tomsula.
GM Trent Baalke, the “mastermind” who forced Jim Harbaugh out of town and built an offense devoid of talent, will keep his job. Tomsula never had a real chance on the heels of Harbaugh, and his job became impossible after Colin Kaepernick crumbled in the first month of the season. The 49ers will look to make a splash with their next hire, with Chip Kelly’s name sure to be thrown around as the savior of Kaepernick’s career. Former Packers and Seahawks coach Mike Holmgren has repeatedly expressed his desire to coach in San Francisco, but he has been out of the league since 2008 and will turn 68 next summer.
