Colts signed LB Austin Ajiake to a one-year contract extension.
An exclusive rights free agent, Ajiake had 32 tackles and played 70 percent of the Colts special teams snaps this year. He also saw some sparse time at linebacker, with 157 defensive snaps over 16 games. The Colts also agreed to terms with RB Ulysses Bentley IV, CB Wyett Ekeler, DE Viliami Fehoko Jr., G LaDarius Henderson, QB Seth Henigan, T Bayron Matos, C Jimmy Morrissey, TE Sean McKeon, S Trey Washington, WR Coleman Owen, DT Tim Smith, G Bill Murray, DE Durell Nchami, S Ben Nikkel, WR Eli Pancol and G Josh Sills on reserve/future contracts.

  • FA Wide Receiver #83
    Giants released WR Zach Pascal.
Pascal is again looking for work after being a part of the Giants’ initial cutdown to 53 players. The 30-year-old receiver has bounced between three different teams since 2022 and didn’t catch a pass in 17 games with the Cardinals last season. In addition to Pascal, the Giants also cut WR Jordan Bly, LB K.J. Cloyd, CB O’Donnell Fortune, LB Dyontae Johnson, C Jimmy Morrissey, WR Montrell Washington, and OL Jaison Williams.

    Texans waived C Jimmy Morrissey.
A 2021 seventh-round pick of the Raiders, Morrissey ended up on the Texans, making four starts. Starting experience on the pivot should earn Morrissey a practice squad spot.

  • IND Center #65
    Texans signed C Jimmy Morrissey.
Morrissey, a 305-pound Pitt product, was the Raiders’ seventh-round pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. He’s likely a project based on his frame and athleticism for the time being. He’ll add depth to a Texans squad that desperately needs help at all positions.

Raiders signed seventh-round C Jimmy Morrissey to a four-year contract.
Morrissey (6'3/305) did not receive any FBS scholarship offers coming out of high school but earned a scholarship after walking on for his freshman season, finishing as a starter for all four of his collegiate years. The Athletic’s Dane Brugler sees Morrissey as a high-IQ center but doesn’t project him as a starting-caliber player due to his lack of power and overall athleticism. Morrissey will likely struggle to earn one of the final spots on the Raiders’ roster as a rookie.

Raiders selected Pittsburgh C Jimmy Morrissey with the No. 230 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.
Morrissey (6'3/305) did not receive any FBS scholarship offers coming out of high school but showed well at a Pittsburgh camp and eventually made the team as a walk-on. He earned a scholarship after his freshman season and would go on to be a starter for all four of his collegiate seasons. The Athletic’s Dane Brugler sees Morrissey as a high-IQ center but doesn’t project him as a starting-caliber player because of his lack of power and overall athleticism. Morrissey will struggle to earn one of the final spots on the Raiders’ roster as a rookie.

Pitt redshirt junior C Jimmy Morrissey (foot) is expected to be healthy for the start of August camp.
Morrissey (6'3/305) sustained a season-ending foot/ankle injury in mid-November which cost him the short remainder of the 2018 campaign. His continuing recovery kept him out of spring ball. Barring setback, he should be good to go for preseason camp. The Athletic’s Nicole Auerbach writes that Morrissey is “probably the most important player on the offense not named Kenny Pickett.” The redshirt junior is the lone starter returning on the line for the coming season.

Pitt redshirt sophomore C Jimmy Morrissey will miss the remainder of the season with an ankle injury.
Morrissey suffered the injury on Pitt’s final touchdown against Wake Forest on Saturday when he got twisted up amid a scrum of big uglies. Morrissey underwent surgery Monday. In so doing, he became Pitt’s third starter lost for the year. He joins ILB Quintin Wirginis and DT Keyshon Camp. Pitt redshirt freshman Owen Drexel is listed as the second-team center on the depth chart.
