Saints declared QB Spencer Rattler, RB Jamaal Williams, CB Kool-Aid McKinstry, CB Marshon Lattimore, CB Rico Payton, DT John Ridgeway III and LB Jaylan Ford inactive for Week 9 against the Panthers.
Rattler goes from being the starter to the emergency QB with the return of David Carr (oblique). Williams was already listed out with his groin injury, so it’ll be Jordan Mims as the backup tailback against Carolina on Sunday.
  • NO Defensive Lineman #91
Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that the Commanders have traded DT John Ridgeway III to the Saints.
Schefter reports that the Saints will send the Commanders a 2025 sixth- round pick while New Orleans also receives a 2025 seventh-round selection. Ridgeway III played in all 17 games last year for Washington and finished with 31 tackles after procuring 24 of them in 15 appearances for the Commanders in 2023. The former Cowboy and fifth-round selection will provide depth in the interior for the Saints in 2024.
  • DAL Wide Receiver #1
Jalen Tolbert is a healthy scratch for the Cowboys in Week 1 against the Buccaneers.
Well, that certainly isn’t ideal. Tolbert is a candidate to be dropped in re-draft leagues. Also inactive are WR Michael Gallup (ACL), LB Jabril Cox, S Israel Mukuamu, CB Nahshon Wright, S Markquese Bell, and DL John Ridgeway.

  • NO Defensive Tackle #95
Cowboys selected Arkansas DT John Ridgeway with the No. 178 overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft.
It is Jerry Jones’ annual Arkansas selection. Ridgeway (6’5/321) spent his first three seasons at Illinois State, where he was named first-team All-Mountain Valley Football Conference in 2020 before transferring to Arky for 2021. During his four years of school, Ridgeway totaled only two sacks and 28 quarterback pressures per PFF, but he showed up in run defense with 64 career run stops. At Arkansas’ pro day, he posted 25 bench reps, which would have ranked second among Combine defensive tackles and EDGE participants. His size and strength allow him to overpower blockers, but he doesn’t have the most active hands. His 5.3 40 at the Combine won’t impress anybody, but he could serve as an early-down run stopper who is unlikely to see much action on passing downs.
