Colts signed WR John Standeford from the practice squad.
He’s insurance for Brandon Stokley (questionable, ankle).
  • FA Wide Receiver
Colts reached an injury settlement with WR Devin Aromashodu.
Aromashodu, who was being tried as a return man, injured a hamstring in training camp. Aaron Moorehead and John Standeford slide up in depth.
  • CIN Wide Receiver
    Colts released John Standeford.
Standeford had an opportunity to make the team, but lost out to Roy Hall. Standeford has exhausted his practice squad eligibility.
  • CIN Wide Receiver
    Lions re-signed WR John Standeford.
Standeford will take over the fifth receiver/special teams role after Adam Jennings was placed on injured reserve last week. He won’t be a fantasy option.
  • CIN Wide Receiver
    Lions released WR John Standeford.
The former Purdue star caught 15 passes last season for the Lions, but never pushed his way up the depth chart this preseason. It didn’t help that the Lions drafted Derrick Williams and traded for Dennis Northcutt.
  • DET Running Back
Lions released RB Artose Pinner, WR John Standeford, WR Kenneth Moore, CB Kiwaukee Thomas, T Jonathan Scott, LB Leon Joe, and DE Rudy Hardie.
Pinner wasn’t bad in the preseason, but 30-year-old journeymen running backs don’t get the benefit of the doubt. Moore may go on the practice squad.
  • DET Wide Receiver #81
Calvin Johnson (knee) is officially out for the Lions on Sunday against the Rams.
It was reported earlier that Megatron might start, but it turns out he will not play. The Rams get a huge break, as they will try to snap their 17-game skid. Derrick Williams and John Standeford should see more snaps.
  • CIN Wide Receiver
    Lions released WR John Standeford.
This is a good sign that Calvin Johnson (knee) will play against the Seahawks Sunday. Standeford was a special teams contributor and deep receiving reserve.
  • DET Defensive Back
Lions signed S LaMarcus Hicks and waived WR John Standeford.
Standeford can rejoin the practice squad, if that’s something he isn’t ready to rule out yet. Hicks provides depth behind FS Dwight Smith (foot).
  • CIN Wide Receiver
    Lions re-signed WR John Standeford.
Standeford will take over for Brandon Middleton as the team’s No. 5 receiver.
