Jaguars declared S Darnell Savage (quad), DT Maason Smith, OT Javon Foster, OL Cole Van Lanen, DT Tyler Lacy and DT Jordan Jefferson inactive for Week 2 against the Browns.
The Jaguars’ secondary took two notable hits this week, with Savage suffering a quad injury in practice and CB Tyson Campbell landing on injured reserve. The developments give the Browns’ flailing passing game a chance to keep pace, though little is guaranteed in that regard.

Jaguars selected LSU DT Jordan Jefferson with the No. 116 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.
After being rated as a three-star recruit and spending four years with West Virginia, Jefferson (6'3/313) transferred to LSU to finish out his career in 2023. He does not have much to contribute against the pass, primarily working linearly with little to no attention to hand leverage. Against the run, he possesses the ability to anchor, alternating between a basic sumo and posting his leg to split the double team. Jefferson is at his best against zone run schemes where he can attack the shoulder of a single blocker and work upfield against the grain to force the cutback. While his motor isn’t always running hot, it is sufficient to ensure that runners aren’t tempted to reverse fields without breaking the second level. Jefferson struggles to work laterally and will instead opt to work down the middle of even the stoutest blockers. Though he was interchangeable between the one and three tech in Baton Rouge, Jefferson is a project that could develop into a solid rotational three tech who can contribute against the run early but could develop into a pass-rushing threat down the line.
