Browns practice squad DE Keith Grennan reportedly ruptured his patellar tendon during one of Eric Mangini’s post-practice “opportunity drills” Thursday.
Mangini has come under fire for pushing his players too hard, and the injury occurred on the same day that Jamal Lewis lashed out at his head coach for many of the same reasons. Though Mangini was exonerated in RB James Davis’ season-ending shoulder injury, some Browns players privately believe that the incident was indeed shady. NFLPA spokesman George Atallah said Thursday night that they’re looking into the Grennan injury.

    Browns waived DE Keith Grennan.
Undrafted out of Eastern Washington in 2007, Grennan spent time on the Browns’ practice squad the past two seasons. His season ended last November after he ruptured his patellar tendon, reportedly during one of the post-practice “opportunity drills” that earned coach Eric Mangini extra scrutiny during the season.
