Cummings

Cummings, a converted defensive end from Wingate, should make it through waivers to the practice squad. Rodgers adds depth at tackle.

The former undrafted free agent from Wingate gives the Jets pass rushing depth with 2008 first-round pick Vernon Gholston banged up and ineffective.

Cummings failed to register a tackle in the three games he played on special teams for the Jets. He’ll provide depth with Keith Brooking and Sean Lee banged up.

Undrafted out of Wingate in 2009, Cummings spent most of last season on the practice squad.

The routine procedure removed pressure from a severe bruise, and Cummings won’t miss much practice time, if any. A former Jets practice squad player, Cummings leads Dallas with nine tackles through two preseason games. He plays special teams and should make the final 53 as a No. 4 inside backer.
