Bradley Fletcher is expected to have the inside track on the Rams’ starting right cornerback job in training camp.
Fletcher is still recovering from knee surgery, but the Rams are confident he’ll be healthy by July. 65th overall pick Jerome Murphy will give Fletcher his biggest test. Murphy is big and physical with ball skills, and obviously has a health advantage. Kevin Dockery will probably be the slot corner.
  • PIT Defensive Back
Giants DB Kevin Dockery was carted off the field with an ankle injury on Sunday night.
He did not return. A serious injury to Dockery would be a blow to a defense that hasn’t been able to stop the Cowboys in Week 1.

Kevin Dockery missed the second half of Sunday’s game because of a shoulder injury.
Coach Tom Coughlin described it as “what I hope is not a serious shoulder injury” and the Giants leave London without any other health issues stemming from Week 8.
  • FA Defensive Back
Giants CB Aaron Ross strained a hamstring in Week 12.
Ross missed practice on Wednesday and is unlikely to be ready for Sunday’s game at Chicago. Kevin Dockery or R.W. McQuarters will start in his place.
  • FA Defensive Back
Giants CB Aaron Ross continued to practice in a brace on Thursday, defending passes and jamming receivers with only one arm.
Ross didn’t participate in walkthroughs with the first- or second-team defenses, with R.W. McQuarters and Corey Webster working with the first team. CB Sam Madison was in pads, but didn’t participate much in practice. CB Kevin Dockery was out of pads, and isn’t expected to play this weekend.
  • PIT Defensive Back
Giants coach Tom Coughlin ruled out CB Kevin Dockery (hip) for the NFC Championship.
Dockery was unable to practice Friday. If Sam Madison (abdomen) can’t go, undrafted rookie Geoffrey Pope will man the nickel against Green Bay.
  • MIA Coaching Staff
Giants CB Sam Madison (strained abdomen) is unlikely to play against the Cowboys this weekend.
With Kevin Dockery on crutches, the Giants are thinner than ever in the secondary. The Giants will likely start rookie Aaron Ross and Corey Webster at the corners with R.W. McQuarters as the nickelback. Good news for Dallas.
  • PIT Defensive Back
Giants CB Kevin Dockery missed practice Thursday.
If he and Sam Madison can’t go, Geoffrey Pope will be the dime corner. Worse, Corey Webster or R.W. McQuarters will start, which would be great news for Joey Galloway and Ike Hilliard.
