Huber, who joined the Bengals in 2009, was among the league’s most reliable punters over his lengthy tenure in Cincinnati. The Bengals released Huber, 37, last December after consistent struggles over the season’s first few months. Drue Chrisman and Brad Robbins will compete for the Bengals’ punting job this summer.

Huber has punted for the Bengals in every season since he was drafted in the fifth round in 2009. Cincinnati’s all-time leading punter will return for his age-37 campaign.

Huber originally was a fifth-round pick of the Bengals in 2009, having played every season in Cincinnati to date. He enters 2021 with 190 career games played as the franchise’s leader in every significant punting category.

A four-year veteran, Huber was fourth in net punting average at 42.0 yards last season. NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport reports the Bengals are also planning to re-sign LS Clark Harris.

Huber got destroyed on a block in Sunday night’s loss to the Steelers. A fifth-year pro, Huber was in the midst of a fine season, placing eighth in net punting average (40.5 yards). He’ll be back for 2014.

He exhibited both outstanding power and accuracy in the Big East, twice earning first-team all conference honors.

Huber was 10th in the NFL averaging 46.6 yards per punt last season.
