Kyle Orton completed 7-of-11 passes for 175 yards, one touchdown, and one interception in Chicago’s preseason opener.
He mostly dominated Miami’s third-team. Don’t be shocked if he passes Chad Hutchinson on the depth chart this season.

Kyle Orton should compete for Chicago’s starting quarterback job following Rex Grossman’s injury.
If the Bears are going to lose, why not lose with a promising rookie? If Orton doesn’t pass Chad Hutchinson to start the season, we’d expect to happen after a few losses. The Bears could also look for veteran help, possibly Vinny Testaverde.

Kyle Orton completed 6-of-10 passes for 67 yards Saturday.
He led the team on their game-winning scoring drive. Orton has looked better than Chad Hutchinson during the pre-season, but the rookie is a longshot to start.

Kyle Orton told Vic Lombardi of CBS 4 Denver that he has not asked the Broncos to trade him.
Orton is “pretty irritated” about the report, and says “the AP story is wrong.” Mike Klis of the Denver Post also reports that Orton has not demanded to be dealt, citing the recent birth of his daughter as a reason Orton would want to stay in Denver. The Broncos’ organization would likely prefer to rid itself of the roughly $5 million left on Orton’s contract, if it’s possible. The Raiders would seem like the most obvious suitor, but for now Oakland appears to have its sights set on Carson Palmer.

According to the Denver Post, the Broncos are expected to “monitor” whether the division rival Raiders show interest in Kyle Orton this week after losing Jason Campbell for the season.
The remaining portion of Orton’s $7.4 million base salary would be prohibitive for most teams, but the Raiders are a contending 4-2, and there’s no question Orton would be a better option the rest of the way than Kyle Boller. Orton is in the last year of his contract and just got benched, so the Broncos would probably take pennies on the dollar to ship him out of town. They could shed the salary, and might be willing to move him for a seventh-round pick.

Brian Griese and Kyle Orton have not been impressive in early training camp work.
Orton has reportedly looked “awful.” Rex Grossman appears to be the Bears’ clear-cut starter currently.
  • BUF Quarterback #18
Kyle Orton completed 24-of-46 passes for 304 yards, one touchdown, and one interception in the Broncos’ Week 1 loss to Oakland, 23-20.
There were stretches late in this game where Denver fans were chanting Tim Tebow’s name, but Orton responded with a 12 play, 80 yard drive capped off by a 8-yard touchdown pass to Lance Ball to pull Denver within three, though it was ultimately not enough. Still, there was a reason why fans wanted Tebow. Orton was wildly inaccurate throughout the contest, though his offensive line did little to help (he took four sacks). He’s a low-end QB2 in Week 2.
  • FA Tight End
Asked if he considered making a quarterback change Monday night, coach John Fox ignored the question.
Kyle Orton took five sacks and lost a key fumble on a non-contact play in the second half. That left Broncos fans chanting for Tim Tebow. Still, Fox isn’t even going to go there yet -- especially considering Brady Quinn appears to currently be Orton’s primary backup. Orton has a much longer leash than one game after running away with the job in preseason.

Coach John Fox reassured that there’s no quarterback controversy in Denver.
“It wasn’t just the quarterback by any stretch,” said Fox. “Kyle is our starting quarterback and I don’t think too many guys are firing all their guys because their team happened to lose in week one.” The Broncos staff believes Tim Tebow just isn’t ready yet, so Orton will have to deal with the fan base’s displeasure on an ongoing basis.

Kyle Orton completed 24-of-39 passes for 173 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions in the Broncos’ Week 3 loss to Tennessee.
In a checkdown-filled passing game, Orton managed a paltry 4.43 YPA average and is now at 6.11 on the season. The Denver offense is run-oriented in nature, and doesn’t run smoothly when the team is playing from behind. On Sunday, it showed up in a struggling Orton’s performance. Through three weeks, he has five TDs and three INTs and has topped 200 passing yards once. Continue to consider Orton a QB2 only as he prepares to face the Packers in Week 4.
