He’ll see a specialist this week, but it doesn’t sound good. LaMont Thompson would likely replace him in the lineup.

Schulters heard something “pop” which makes it sound like he’ll be out for a while.

Schulters should remain in a protective boot for four more weeks.

Shulters had his 2004 season cut short by a foot injury. He was one of the better defensive backs in the game before that.

Released by the Titans last week, we’d guess the Cowboys, 49ers, and/or the Falcons are also in the mix. Dallas would appear to have the biggest need.

The Titans want him to take a big paycut, which seems unlikely. Schulters will be highly sought after in the free agent market. Green Bay is one team in need of a veteran safety.

This move was expected for months, as Schulters didn’t want to take a paycut. Schulters has struggled with injuries, but is still a young, productive safety. The Titans secondary is highly inexperienced. Schulters will find many suitors this week.
