Broncos LS Lonie Paxton will miss Saturday’s Divisional Round game against the Patriots to be with his wife, who is having complications in her pregnancy with twins.
This explains Paxton’s week-long absence from practice for “personal reasons.” Losing your long snapper before the biggest game of the season is hardly ideal, but the Broncos have signed David Binn as a replacement. Binn was the Chargers’ long snapper for 16 seasons before being cut during training camp.

Broncos waived or released LS Lonie Paxton, CB Ramzee Robinson, RB Xavier Omon, WR Mark Dell, OT Mike Remmer, RB Austin Sylvester, OG Austin Wuebbels, LB Elliot Coffey, WR Cameron Kenney, TE Anthony Miller, OLB Cyril Obiozor and DB Anthony Perkins.
A 13-year veteran, Paxton had been the Broncos’ long-snapper since 2009. He’ll be replaced by rookie LB Aaron Brewer. The final pick of the 2007 draft, Robinson hasn’t appeared in a game since 2009.

Patriots re-signed long snapper Lonie Paxton.
One the league’s top long snappers and snow angel makers, the Patriots probably wanted to lock up Paxton before any of the Belichick tree called him.

Broncos signed long snapper Lonie Paxton to a five-year, $5.3 million contract.
The pipeline out of New England is running to both Kansas City and Denver. The 30-year-old former Patriot is known as one of the best long snappers in the league and an excellent snow angel maker.
