Marcel Shipp, being investigated for domestic violence, has not been arrested and is cooperating fully with police.
The case is still under investigation. It should be a few days before details are revealed. Shipp is expected to be the Cardinals #1 running back next season.

Phoenix police are investigating an alleged domestic violence incident involving Marcel Shipp.
No details about the incident have been released. "(Shipp) has not been arrested,” detective Tony Morales said. “It’s still under investigation. The investigation is really just beginning. That’s all I can say at this point.”
  • HOU Running Back
Dennis Green predicted Marcel Shipp will rush for over 1,000 yards with at least 7 TDs next season.
Shipp didn’t reach the endzone once in 2003. This proclamation gives Shipp owners hope that the Cardinals won’t use Emmitt Smith as a goal-line running back.
  • HOU Running Back
Arizona coach Dennis Green has announced that running back Marcel Shipp has been demoted to backup.
Wow. Emmitt Smith will stand atop the Cardinals’ depth chart to start training camp. Green is a master motivator and obviously didn’t like what he saw out of Shipp. While it’s likely that Shipp will win his job back eventually, the Arizona backfield looks like one to avoid.

Cardinals RB Marcel Shipp is likely out for the season because of his ankle injury.
This gets worse every hour. In addition to his broken leg, his dislocated ankle will require surgically inserted pins. He may be off his feet for 2-3 months. The Cardinals aren’t likely to hold a roster spot for him that long. Don’t draft him.
  • HOU Running Back
Cardinals RB Marcel Shipp is unsure of his role for the team.
It’s tough to tell if Shipp will take the starting job back from Emmitt Smith during training camp. At the very least, Shipp will be a change of pace back. With the patchwork Arizona offensive line, we’d stay away from both runners.

RB Marcel Shipp (knee) will not play in Saturday’s preseason game against the Cowboys.
The Cardinals will ease Shipp back while rookie RB J.J. Arrington gets a chance to start initially. WR Anquan Boldin, C Alex Stepanovich (hand), DE Peppi Zellner (sprained knee), DT DeVone Claybrooks (knee), TE Eric Edwards (pectoral tear), RB Troy Hambrick (foot), OT Oliver Ross (knee), and S Ernest Shazor (hamstring) will also not play tonight.

Marcel Shipp will play his first game since 2003 this weekend.
The Cardinals have been cautious in his recovery from knee surgery. If healthy, he could cut into J.J. Arrington’s redzone chances. But Shipp has a lot to prove before that can happen.
  • HOU Running Back
Marcel Shipp rushed seven times for 56 yards in his preseason debut tonight.
It was a huge performance for Shipp’s confidence, coming off ankle and leg surgeries 12 months ago. He’s backing up J.J. Arrington but can still carve out a role.

NFL Network’s Adam Shefter reports that the Texans and Cowboys recently inquired about Marcel Shipp’s availability in a trade and were denied.
We’re not sure what’s more surprising: That two teams inquired about Shipp or that Arizona didn’t show interest. This indicates Shipp has a decent chance to beat out J.J. Arrington for a backup role, despite rumors he could be a June 1st cut.
