Having already traded Quinn Ewers to Jacksonville, Miami only has Malik Willis on the roster at quarterback. They will make a move for a backup at some point in the next day or two. Gronowski is expected to return on Miami’s practice squad if he clears waivers.

Dolphins QB Quinn Ewers suffered a groin injury in Friday’s preseason game against the Commanders.

The Dolphins signed QB Mark Gronowski after Ewers picked up the injury. Ewers is the Dolphins’ primary backup, so the team was a little short-staffed for the remaining preseason games. Dolphins backup OT Jamaree Salyer reportedly suffered a season-ending injury and was placed on injured reserve. The Dolphins also waived CB Ethan Robinson and signed LB Cam Riley.
