Tampa Bay is standing by their man, but he could be on a short leash during the regular season.

Coach Jon Gruden admits the team is considering signing another kicker. Gramatica is 5-for-8 in the preseason, including a low 44-yarder that barely clear the uprights. We’d be surprised if Gramatica lost his job, but he may not be a great late kicker pick if he can’t overcome his mental struggles.

Like last season, Gramatica has been inconsistent during training camp. But the Bucs don’t have any better options. We still like him as a late-round kicker with a lot of upside.

Tampa Bay’s questionable offense and Gramatica’s woes make him an unattractive fantasy kicker.

Gramatica was already a candidate to be released before the injury, so it will be interesting to see what the Bucs do.

He’s not a good fantasy option anymore because of his inconsistency this season.

The former top five fantasy kicker is one of our favorites this year. He should be available in the final round of fantasy drafts and could be a top point scorer, especially in yardage leagues.

New England’s placekicker in 2006 will be rookie Stephen Gostkowski. Gramatica wasn’t terrible in camp and could get a look elsewhere.

Fourth-rounder Stephen Gostkowski was perfect on three mid-range field goals. Neither should be drafted in fantasy leagues.

It was a 47 yard try. “I feel positive about Martin,” coach Jon Gruden said. “I just wish he would have made that.”
