Colts re-signed Marvin Harrison to a seven-year, $67 million contract, including $22 million in guaranteed money before 2006.
An interesting deal on many levels. First, it will contain the most guaranteed money ever for a wide receiver, despite Harrison’s age (32). It also spreads out the guaranteed money in a way that will allow Indianapolis to make a run at keeping Edgerrin James. Finally, this is incredible news for Harrison owners in keeper leagues. Harrison has made no secret of wanting to be the best receiver of all-time. He is well conditioned and should continue to post great stats for the next 3-4 years.

The SF Chronicle suggests that the Raiders will pursue veteran free agent wideouts if they don’t find the receiver they want in the draft.
The paper names Marvin Harrison and Amani Toomer. Roydell Williams and Matt Jones are other options. Oakland should avoid entering Week 1 with Johnnie Lee Higgins, Chaz Schilens, and Javon Walker as its top three WRs.

Marvin Harrison’s elbow surgery last month reportedly went off without a hitch.
“He told me if there was anything wrong, he’d let me know,” coach Tony Dungy said. It’s uncertain if Harrison will be ready for the start of training camp.

Marvin Harrison, only a few months removed from wrist surgery, will undergo elbow surgery Monday.
The Colts say the operation is being performed for an injury that occured last season. The timing is odd, then, considering Harrison just completed four days of practices. No timetable for his return has been set, but he’s likely out until training camp. It’s fair to be concerned about the usually durable 33-year-old.
  • IND Wide Receiver
Marvin Harrison caught nine passes for 113 yards in a Week 1 road victory.
Ho hum. Harrison was particularly impressive on on three straight grabs to close the first half where it looked like Peyton Manning and him were playing pitch and catch. Next week is a tasty matchup against Houston.
  • IND Wide Receiver
Marvin Harrison caught ten passes for 98 yards on Sunday.
He’s that much more valuable in leagues that award points for receptions.
  • IND Wide Receiver
Marvin Harrison caught five passes for 65 yards and a touchdown in week three.
Only Harrison could make 22 catches for 207 yards and two touchdowns through three weeks seem quiet. Reggie Wayne’s emergence will really help Harrison in the long run.
  • IND Wide Receiver
Marvin Harrison caught seven passes for 44 yards and 1 TD in the Colts opening game.
Harrison hasn’t topped 50 yards in a season opener in four years running. Still, it was surprising the Colts didn’t throw to him more with Ty Law out of the game tonight.
  • IND Wide Receiver
Marvin Harrison caught four passes for 45 yards and a touchdown in week four.
Another relatively quiet day, but another touchdown. Harrison is still on pace for 104 catches and 12 touchdowns, but “only” 1,008 yards. Expect the yardage to pick up.
  • IND Wide Receiver
Marvin Harrison caught three passes for 44 yards in week five.
Harrison always starts slow, but he’s below pace for 1,000 yards after five weeks now. He’s a ‘buy-low’ candidate because we bet he’ll turn it on before long.
