Chiefs released DT Matt Dickerson and re-signed LB Cole Christiansen.
Dickerson has appeared in 36 games during his five-year NFL career. The Chiefs released Dickerson last August to make room for waiver claims but he ultimately re-signed with the team, appearing in 12 contests with the team. We could see a similar outcome unfold this time around, although nothing is certain this early in the league year. Kansas City re-signed LB Cole Christiansen in a corresponding move.
  • KC Defensive End #93
    Chiefs released DE Matt Dickerson.
Dickerson was competing for a depth role along the defensive line in camp. He initially made the team’s roster cuts on Tuesday but was released Wednesday to make room for waiver additions. Dickerson has 24 career appearances across four seasons but has yet to earn an NFL start.
  • MIA Defensive Tackle #98
Titans signed UCLA DE Matt Dickerson.
Dickerson (6’5/292) was a two-plus-year starter on the Bruins’ defensive line, managing seven tackles for loss with 1.5 sacks, then breaking his collarbone last October and missing the final six games. Long on size and athleticism but short on college production, Dickerson helped himself at the Combine with a 5.06 forty, 31-inch vertical, and 26 reps on the bench. Dickerson profiles as a long-term rotational role player.
