All of the players spent time on the Jets’ practice squad in 2009. Davis was claimed off waivers from Chicago last summer after seeing game action with the Bears and Raiders in 2008.

Kroul has changed his number from 98 to 66 and spent Saturday studying offensive terminology. “If that allows me to make the 53 (man roster), I said, ‘Yeah, let’s do the thing,’” Kroul said. He remains a longshot to stick, but being able to back up spots on both lines redefines versatility.

The Jets announced 18 futures additions Wednesday, but we already posted a number of them. Payne has bounced around since going undrafted in 2007. Toal played collegiately at Boston College. Kroul is an undersized nose.

Kroul saw limited snaps on defense this year, recording just three tackles in six games.
