  • TEN Wide Receiver #83
Arkansas has received a verbal commitment from senior WR Matt Landers, formerly of Toledo.
Landers (6'5/200) was a three-star wide receiver from the 2017 class and originally committed to Georgia. He transferred to Toledo for the 2021 season after struggling to see the field at Georgia, and immediately went for 20-514-5 in his lone season with the Rockets. Now with a strong season under his belt, Landers is looking to head back to the SEC in 2022. The big-bodied receiver averaged an impressive 25.7 YPR last season, per PFF, with all but 28 of his receiving yards coming in the final five games of the season.

Toledo senior WR Matt Landers entered the transfer portal.
A former three-star wideout from St. Petersburg, FL, Landers (6'5/200) just transferred from Georgia to Toledo last February. While he didn’t see the field much over the first nine weeks of the 2021 season, he came on strong down the stretch posting 14 receptions on 16 targets for 349 yards, 23.6 YPC and four touchdowns over Toledo’s last four contests. It will be interesting to see how his market develops since he is transferring as a graduate and had a standout showing last year. He is likely looking to get back into the Power Five after boosting his value with the Rockets.

Toledo junior WR Matt Landers caught four passes for 137 yards and one touchdown in Friday’s 31-24 loss to Middle Tennessee.
Landers’ (6'5/200) big play came on a deep 90-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Dequan Finn early in the second quarter to give Toledo an early 14-7 lead. Landers also hauled in a 21-yard pass in the first quarter on a drive that ended on a missed 35-yard field goal, but it was a big day for the hulking wide receiver, who ends his 2021 seaso with 20 receptions for 514 yards and five touchdowns. Landers averaged 25.7 yards per reception on the season, and could be in line for a big 2022 season given the explosive plays he produced in 2021.
