Jets signed OT Mike Kracalik, formerly of the Ravens.
A 26-year-old former undrafted free agent, Kracalik knows coach Rex Ryan from their Baltimore days. Kracalik will still be in a fight for a roster spot.
  • PIT Linebacker
Jets waived LB Brandon Renkart, P Reggie Hodges, and OT Mike Kracalik.
Undrafted rookie A.J. Trapasso is replacing Hodges, who’s maddeningly inconsistent. Kracalik and Renkart were deep reserves with no shot to start.
  • Ravens cut T Mike Kracalik and K Steve Hauschka.
The team needed roster space for cornerbacks Fabian Washington and Derrick Martin, both of whom were reinstated after serving one-week suspensions.
  • TEN Tackle
The Baltimore Sun reports “you could tell” Ravens GM Ozzie Newsome was working the phones looking for tackles after Adam Terry injured his ankle this morning.
The second Ravens tackle to be carted off in a week. The paper says it doesn’t appear Terry will return anytime soon. With projected left tackle starter Jared Gaither (ankle) also hurt, the Ravens’ offense could be in big trouble. Mike Kracalik and Oniel Cousins are next in line.
  • The Ravens wrapped up training camp with Mike Kracalik and Chad Slaughter as their starting offensive tackles.
Kracalik is a practice squad type and Slaughter an ex-construction worker who couldn’t make the Raiders. Projected LT Jared Gaither and RT Adam Terry are still hurt. Gaither’s desire has been questioned by the Baltimore media. If he doesn’t step up, this offense is near certain to struggle in 2008.
  • BAL Linebacker
Ravens re-signed exclusive rights free agents Mike Smith, a linebacker, Matt Katula, a long snapper, and Mike Kracalik, a tackle.
Smith has shown promise in practice the last two years and may develop into a quality special teamer and reserve in the base defense. Kracalik and Katula both spent time on Baltimore’s practice squad in 2006.
