Packers CB Nate Hobbs (knee) is questionable for Green Bay’s Week 14 game against the Bears.
Hobbs has not played since Week 9’s loss to the Panthers, where he initially suffered the knee injury. Perhaps this will be his first game back. Quay Walker (neck) was cleared off the injury report, while Lukas Van Ness (foot) was ruled out after not practicing all week.
  • GB Linebacker #7
Packers LB Quay Walker (neck) did not participate in Wednesday’s practice.
Walker suffered a stinger in Week 11 and is now listed with a neck injury. He does not practice to start the week, putting his Week 12 status in jeopardy. Also not practicing was CB Nate Hobbs (knee), who has missed each of the last two weeks. Both players will face an uphill battle to play against the Vikings this week, leaving the Packers defense thin.
  • GB Kicker #17
Packers declared K Brandon McManus, DL Devonte Wyatt, OT Anthony Belton and CB Kamal Hadden inactive for Week 6 against the Bengals.
The Packers signed K Lucas Havrisik on Saturday, with McManus nursing a quad injury. Havrisik will kick in McManus’ stead. Green Bay received great news regarding the offensive line’s health. LT Rasheed Walker (quad), LG Aaron Banks (groin/knee), RT Zach Tom (oblique/back) and backup OG/C Jacob Monk are all active this week. The talented unit should keep QB Jordan Love upright against the Bengals. Starting CB Nate Hobbs (concussion) is not on the inactives list, indicating he successfully passed the NFL’s concussion protocol.
  • GB Tackle #63
Packers LT Rasheed Walker (quad) is questionable for Week 6 against the Bengals.
Packers LG Aaron Banks (groin/knee), RT Zach Tom (oblique/back), backup OG/C Jacob Monk (hamstring) and CB Nate Hobbs (concussion) are questionable. On the plus side, backup LT Jordan Morgan (knee) will be active. Packers backup OT Anthony Belton (ankle) is out. The Packers are 2-1-1 despite the lengthy offensive line injury list. If the unit can get healthy later this year, this team will be a force to be reckoned with.
  • GB Defensive Lineman #1
Packers DL Micah Parsons (back) is active for Week 2 against the Commanders.
The Packers’ vaunted defense will have its new star pass rusher on the field. Unfortunately, the Packers declared CB Bo Melton, S Zayne Anderson, RT Zach Tom (oblique), LG Aaron Banks (ankle/groin), TE Ben Sims and DL Warren Brinson inactive. Losing both Tom and Banks hurts Jordan Love’s protection. It would be unsurprising to see the Packers dial up quick-hitting pass plays to help reduce pressure from Washington’s pass rush. On the plus side, Packers CB Nate Hobbs (knee) is active.
  • GB Defensive Lineman #1
Packers head coach Matt LaFleur said that DL Micah Parsons (back) “was able to do what we had planned for him today.”
We do not yet know Parsons’ participation level, but it sounds like he is on track to play against the Lions in Week 1. It would be unsurprising to see him be restricted to some sort of snap count. The Packers have Super Bowl aspirations, and they’ll want to safely ramp up their well-paid superstar to preserve his health for the stretch run. Packers CB Nate Hobbs (knee) returned to practice in a limited capacity.
  • GB Defensive Lineman #1
Packers DL Micah Parsons (back) was limited on Wednesday.
We expect Parsons to be on the field when the Packers host the Lions in Week 1, but it’s possible they limit his snap count. Parsons joins a talented Packers defensive unit that will thoroughly test new Lions OC John Morton’s mettle. The Packers have notably officially switched Parsons to a generic defensive line positional designation. Packers CB Nate Hobbs (knee) did not practice.
  • GB Cornerback #21
Packers CB Nate Hobbs had knee surgery and is out for the remainder of training camp.
Expected to be a key part of the Green Bay secondary in 2025, Hobbs — who in March signed a four-year deal worth $48 million — will miss the remainder of training camp and the preseason while recovering from the procedure. Hobbs could be ready for the Packers’ Week 1 game against the Lions, according to ESPN’s Rob Demovsky. Hobbs had surgery on Saturday to repair a partial meniscus tear, which he could have played with, a source told ESPN. Hobbs, who played for the Raiders during his first four NFL seasons, missed six games last season and 16 over the previous three seasons combined because of ankle injuries, a hand injury, and illness. Pro Football Focus graded Hobbs as last year’s 68th best cover corner out of 160 qualifying players.
  • GB Cornerback #39
Packers signed CB Nate Hobbs, formerly of the Raiders, to a four-year, $48 million contract.
The deal includes an underwhelming (relative to the supposed total outlay) $16 million guaranteed. A 25-year-old primary nickel back, Hobbs has earned so-so PFF grades at an admittedly tough position. He is also capable of playing on the boundary. Coming from a bad defense to a better overall unit, Hobbs isn’t a bad improvement bet for 2025, though he’s not a slam-dunk signing, especially if it is for $12 million annually in the slot.
  • LV Cornerback #39
Raiders declared CB Nate Hobbs, QB Carter Bradley, CB Sam Webb, DT Matthew Butler, LB Kana’i Mauga and G Jordan Meredith inactive for Week 16 against the Jaguars.
Hobbs was questionable due to illness, and the 25-year-old defender won’t be able to go for this ever-so-crucial contest against the Jaguars. Bradley will operate as the emergency quarterback behind Aidan O’Connell and Desmond Ridder.
