Panthers LT Rasheed Walker “has been accepted into a pretrial diversion program that will clear a January gun charge from his record.”
Walker’s record will be cleared “if he avoids any additional arrests over the next six months.” Walker was arrested at LaGuardia Airport on January 23rd, 2026, because he reportedly lacked the required credentials to travel with the firearm. Walker evidently did not know he was committing a crime when he presented the firearm for inspection. He is licensed to carry it in the state of Wisconsin, which apparently led to Walker’s confusion.

Panthers signed LT Rasheed Walker, formerly of the Packers, to a one-year, $10 million contract.
This is a great deal for the Panthers. Walker, a former seventh-round pick with the Packers, made just over $6 million on his rookie contract. This is a decent pay bump for him. Among NFL tackles with at least 490 left tackle snaps, Walker’s 69.3 PFF pass-blocking grade ranks 21st. The Panthers lost starter LT Ikem Ekwonu to a patellar tendon rupture during their Wild Card Round loss to the Rams last year. While Ekwonu is undoubtedly rehabbing the injury rigorously, he return date is still being determined. Panthers backup OT Yosh Nijman also retired earlier this week. Signing Walker gives them a reliable, if non-elite, starter in 2026.

NFL Network’s Cameron Wolfe believes the Browns could pursue Packers LT Rasheed Walker in free agency.
Last week, The Athletic’s Matt Schneidman said he believes Jordan Morgan will be the Packers’ starting left tackle next season, so today’s report makes sense. All five members of the Browns’ starting offensive line are set to enter free agency this offseason. Starting anew with Walker, a talented 26-year-old left tackle, could be a smart move.
  • GB OFFENSIVE TACKLE (SUB) #77
The Athletic’s Matt Schneidman believes Jordan Morgan will start at left tackle for the Packers in 2026.
In other words, he believes Rasheed Walker will leave in free agency — even going as far as to wonder about Walker getting the snaps at left tackle last year as being related to a potential compensatory draft pick for the Packers. Morgan had an average 62.0 PFF grade in 2025, starting two games at tackle in the regular season and one in the playoffs. He looked better at right tackle in place of the injured Zach Tom than he did at left tackle.

Packers LT Rasheed Walker was arrested at LaGuardia Airport in New York after he tried to check in a bag that contained a firearm on Friday.
Walker was charged with two counts of second-degree criminal possession of a weapon and criminal possession of a firearm. The 25-year-old left tackle appeared in Queens County Criminal Court on the gun charge and was later released. He is due back in court on March 19. A seventh-round pick by the Packers in 2022, Walker is set to hit free agency for the first time this offseason. His pending court appearance could impact his free agency as the legal negotiating period for pending free agents starts on March 9, and players can officially sign deals with new teams on March 11.
  • GB Kicker #17
Packers declared K Brandon McManus, DL Devonte Wyatt, OT Anthony Belton and CB Kamal Hadden inactive for Week 6 against the Bengals.
The Packers signed K Lucas Havrisik on Saturday, with McManus nursing a quad injury. Havrisik will kick in McManus’ stead. Green Bay received great news regarding the offensive line’s health. LT Rasheed Walker (quad), LG Aaron Banks (groin/knee), RT Zach Tom (oblique/back) and backup OG/C Jacob Monk are all active this week. The talented unit should keep QB Jordan Love upright against the Bengals. Starting CB Nate Hobbs (concussion) is not on the inactives list, indicating he successfully passed the NFL’s concussion protocol.

Packers LT Rasheed Walker (quad) is questionable for Week 6 against the Bengals.
Packers LG Aaron Banks (groin/knee), RT Zach Tom (oblique/back), backup OG/C Jacob Monk (hamstring) and CB Nate Hobbs (concussion) are questionable. On the plus side, backup LT Jordan Morgan (knee) will be active. Packers backup OT Anthony Belton (ankle) is out. The Packers are 2-1-1 despite the lengthy offensive line injury list. If the unit can get healthy later this year, this team will be a force to be reckoned with.
  • Packers signed No. 25 overall pick OT Jordan Morgan to a four-year, $14.185 million contract.
The Packers replaced long-time starting LT David Bakhtiari with 2022 seventh-round draft pick, LT Rasheed Walker last year, who admirably produced a 74.7 PFF pass-blocking grade. Walker’s 56.3 PFF run-blocking grade reflects his incomplete profile though, giving the well-rounded Morgan an advantage over the incumbent. Morgan’s first-round draft capital also works in his favor. Packers coaches are surely hoping Morgan asserts himself as the team’s best blindside protector before Week 1 kicks off.

Packers selected Penn State OT Rasheed Walker with the No. 249 overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft.
Walker (6'6/313) made 32 starts at left tackle over three years for the Nittany Lions, unfortunately losing the final three games of 2021 with a bone bruise. He contended with three different offensive systems and two different line coaches while at Penn State but still managed to make All-Big Ten Honorable Mention in 2020 and 2021, even though he played through the aforementioned injury for a while before being shut down. Injuries and his lack of consistency may explain his average PFF grade (60 overall in 2021) and a consistent NFL system could really help hone his talents. Walker’s main trait is his pure, often overwhelming, power. He’s got a big, thick frame and uses every bit of it when he gets his hands on you. He can explode out of his stance to bury opposing rushers and definitely doesn’t lack anything in the physical department. He can struggle with range, however, often getting beat on the outside, which then leaves him vulnerable on the inside if he overcompensates. He won’t be beaten by a bullrush, though. Walker’s struggles in setting the edge consistently may call for a move inside, but he never played anywhere except the left tackle in college. Regardless of where he ends up, Walker has the prototypical build for a tackle, and if he improves his technique he can be a starter at the next level.

Penn State T Rasheed Walker has caught the interest of multiple NFL teams throughout the pre-draft process.
Walker (6'6/320) played a big role in helping protect Nittany Lions quarterback Sean Clifford after making a lot of offseason progress ahead of the season. What Walker’s shown on the field has caught the eye of several NFL scouts -- according to Justin Melo of The Draft Network, Walker had Top 30 visits with a list of teams that included the Washington Commanders, Las Vegas Raiders, Jacksonville Jaguars, Minnesota Vikings and Green Bay Packers.
