Ravens exercised the fifth-year option for EDGE Odafe Oweh.
Oweh, a former first round pick, is now locked up until the end of the 2025 season. Pro Football Focus graded Oweh as the league’s 30th best EDGE in 2023, as he had nine QB hits and 40 QB hurries in an injury-shortened campaign. He has at least five sacks in each of his three seasons with Baltimore. PFF graded the Ravens as the seventh best pass-rushing defense in 2023.

Ravens EDGE Odafe Oweh (ankle/knee) did not participate in Wednesday practice.
Oweh has been dealing with an ankle injury for a few weeks, returning in Week 7 against the Lions. A knee injury has also been added to the report for Oweh. The third-year linebacker will try to return to practice later this week in order to play in Week 9 against the Seahawks.

Ravens EDGE Odafe Oweh (ankle) is questionable for Week 8 against the Cardinals.
Oweh returned from a four-game absence because of the ankle issue last week. He played a limited role but tallied one sack and forced a fumble. He was added to the injury report as a limited participant on Thursday before being downgraded to a DNP on Friday. His status for Week 8 is shaky at best. Roquan Smith, who missed Wednesday’s practice with a shoulder issue, is good to go.

Ravens EDGE Odafe Oweh (ankle) was removed from the Week 7 injury report and will play against the Lions.
Oweh has missed four games because of the ankle issue but got in two full practices before being removed from the injury report this week. Odafe started in the Ravens’ first two games of the year and immediately looked to have taken the next step in his second NFL season. He generated eight pressures and five QB hits in 44 pass-rush reps. He will look to make an impact on Jared Goff in his first game back.

Ravens OLB Jadeveon Clowney (illness) practiced on Thursday.
Clowney missed Wednesday’s practice with an illness but was never a real threat to miss Sunday’s game against the Titans. He and Geno Stone (hamstring) both returned to practice on Thursday, while Odafe Oweh (ankle) remained sidelined. With the majority of their starters healthy, the Ravens should be good to go for their Week 6 tilt with the Titans.

Ravens CB Marlon Humphrey (foot) will not play in Week 3 against the Colts.
Humprey continues to be sidelined with a foot injury that he suffered in the preseason and will now miss his third-straight game to open the season. Ronald Darby and Rock Ya-Sin will be leaned on as the Ravens’ top two corners for this week, while Marcus Williams (pectoral) and EDGE Odafe Oweh (ankle) will also be sidelined.

Penn State DL Jayson Oweh ran a 4.36 40-yard dash at his pro day workout on Thursday.
Oweh (6'5/153) was already expected to post some impressive testing numbers, but a 4.36 40-yard dash would have ranked first among all 2020 defensive linemen and fourth overall out of the entire NFL Scouting Combine participants. As if that weren’t impressive enough, Oweh posted a 39.5" vertical jump, 134" broad jump, 4.21 shuttle and a 6.83 second three-cone drill. All of those marks would have ranked first when compared to the 2020 crop of defensive linemen. While Oweh doesn’t boast elite sack production, he had 0.0 sacks in 2020, his testing numbers are as impressive as any EDGE rusher we’ve seen in years. He is building a strong case to be selected in the first round.

Penn State redshirt sophomore EDGE Jayson Oweh declared for the NFL Draft.
Last year Oweh (6'5/255) posted 21 tackles, 13 solo, 5.0 sacks, two forced fumbles and one PBU. His testing numbers are the stuff of legend, as he is rumored to have run a 4.4 40-yard dash...as an EDGE. Other athletic testing numbers worth noting are the redshirt sophomore’s 380-pound bench press and 365-pound power clean. A recent CBS Sports mock draft had Oweh going to Tampa Bay with the no. 22 overall selection, so he is firmly in the Day 1 conversation for NFL Draft purposes.

Penn State redshirt freshman EDGE Jayson Oweh is ranked on the annual “Freaks” list compiled by Bruce Feldman of The Athletic.
It’s one thing for a skill position player to run a sub-4.4 40, but an edge rusher? You don’t come across those kinds of players every day, which is why Oweh (6'5/255) is ranked fourth on Feldman’s “Freaks” list. Other athletic testing numbers worth noting are the redshirt freshman’s 380-pound bench press and 365-pound power clean. With Yetur Gross-Matos now in the NFL, Oweh will have to opportunity to show that he can be Penn State’s next high-level edge rusher.

Penn State redshirt freshman EDGE Jayson Oweh earned five QB pressures on 19 pass-rush snaps, per Pro Football Focus.
Getting home on just over a quarter of one’s pass-rush snaps is outstanding efficiency. Oweh (6'5/255) finished on two of those pressures by sacking the Michigan State QB. Oweh’s two sacks in that game bring his season total up to four. By the end of the year, it’s likely Oweh will have somewhere around six or seven sacks, which is excellent for a redshirt freshman.
