Baltimore Ravens
The weekly list of NFL-imposed fines for Week 4 includes Titans defensive lineman John Franklin-Myers. On the surface, the $12,537 fine for “striking/kicking/kneeing” seems as perfunctory as any such fine ever does.
The video paints a different picture.
It happened in the second quarter of Sunday’s game between the Titans and the Ravens, on a play that resulted in a three-yard touchdown pass from Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson to tight end Mark Andrews. Although the game broadcast didn’t capture it, the film reveals the full incident. Ravens running back Derrick Henry cut-blocked Franklin-Myers. After the ball was caught in the end zone, and while Henry was on all fours and not looking, Franklin-Myers took a step back and then jammed his knee into Henry’s midsection.
The officials presumably didn’t see it, because no penalty flag was thrown. It was the kind of gratuitous move that could have resulted in an ejection. It’s somewhat surprising it didn’t lead to a suspension.
The end result doesn’t come close to matching the infraction. It’s less than the league fined Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson and Browns running back Quinshon Judkins for a celebration that mimed smoking a joint. And it was nearly half the amount of a fine that was imposed earlier this season, we’re told, on Ravens receiver LaJohntay Wester for — God forbid — displaying an unauthorized logo on his gloves.
Those fines aren’t part of the weekly announcement from the league. Wester was fined $23,882 after the Ravens’ Week 1 game against the Colts for the foreign logo on his gloves.
While the fine schedule is negotiated between the NFL and the NFL Players Association, something is off if a player can deliberately ram a knee into the midsection of an unsuspecting opponent and be fined only $12,537, but having an unauthorized logo on the official gloves costs $23,882.

The NFL’s announced Week 4 fines featured a season-high 10 infractions for player safety fouls that qualify toward a possible suspension.
Ravens linebacker Trenton Simpson was fined $17,911 for a horsecollar tackle.
Browns defensive tackle Adin Huntington ($5,620), Lions linebacker Jack Campbell ($15,930), Jets safety Minkah Fitzpatrick ($17,911), Jets defensive end Darrell Jackson ($6,683) and Seahawks safety Nick Emmanwori ($14,648) were fined for hip-drop tackles.
Cowboys cornerback Reddy Steward ($5,583), Texans cornerback Kamari Lassiter ($13,639) and Rams linebacker Nate Landman ($11,111) were fined for a hit on a defenseless player.
Broncos offensive lineman Ben Powers was docked $17,911 for a blindside block.
Three fines in any one category trigger an automatic one-game suspension. Players can appeal the fines.
The Falcons placed linebacker Yasir Abdullah on injured reserve with a hamstring injury, the team announced Saturday.
In four games, with one start, Abdullah has recorded two tackles, a pass defensed and four quarterback hits.
He will miss at least the next four games.
In a corresponding move, the Falcons signed safety Jammie Robinson to the active roster.
Robinson made his 2026 debut last week after the Falcons elevated him from the practice squad, and he made one tackle on 22 special teams snaps. He played six games for the Falcons last season.
The Falcons also announced the practice squad elevations of defensive ends Bralen Trice and Drake Jackson. It is Trice’s final elevation of the season.
The Ravens completed a trade with the Eagles for center Cam Jurgens this week and they handled the final steps before the deal was done differently than their last high-profile attempt at a swap.
When the Ravens and Raiders agreed to a deal that would send defensive end Maxx Crosby to Baltimore in March, it was announced before a physical was completed. The Ravens failed Crosby once that physical took place at their facility and the deal fell apart as a result.
Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that the Ravens sent a pair of doctors to Philadelphia to conduct Jurgens’s physical at the Eagles facility this Wednesday. Once Jurgens passed the physical, the deal was finalized and announced. Schefter adds that other teams may now opt to take this step rather than announced trades that have been agreed to pending a physical.
While Jurgens passed the physical, he is not going to play for the Ravens in Week 5 because he remains in the concussion protocol. The team expects him to be cleared in time to play in Week 6.
As expected, given that he’s week-to-week with an ankle injury, Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson will miss Sunday night’s game against the Falcons. And, to no surprise, the Ravens are much better with Lamar than without Lamar.
Via NBC Sports research, the Ravens have a record of 82-37 (68.9 percent) when Lamar starts, including postseason. They also average 27.8 points per game in those games. When Lamar doesn’t start, the Ravens are 10-17 (37.0 percent), including postseason, with an average of 19.6 points per game.
Tyler Huntley, who’ll get his 17th career regular-season start on Sunday, has started 12 times in place of Lamar, including playoffs. Huntley’s record is 5-7.
By Sunday night, the 3-1 Ravens will be well aware of the impact of the game on their status in the AFC North standings. The 3-1 Browns, 2-2 Bengals, and 2-2 Steelers all play in the early window.
The next two Ravens games will have a much more direct impact on the eventual outcome of the division; the team formerly known as the Browns makes its annual return to Cleveland next Sunday, followed by Cincinnati’s annual visit to Baltimore. After that, the Ravens have the Bills and the Jaguars.
Ravens head coach Jesse Minter shared the headline of the team’s Week 5 injury report when he announced that quarterback Lamar Jackson has been ruled out for Sunday night’s game against the Ravens.
The team released its full injury report later in the day and it includes a questionable tag for the team’s top wide receiver. Zay Flowers was limited in practice all week with a foot injury and the team will wait to make a final call about his availability in Atlanta.
Cornerback Marlon Humphrey (hamstring, calf) is also listed as questionable after returning to practice on Friday. Guard Andrew Vorhees (foot) rounds out the questionable group for this weekend.
Linebacker Trey Hendrickson (finger) and center Cam Jurgens (concussion) were also ruled out ahead of the release of the full injury report. Minter said earlier this week that he expects Jurgens to make his Ravens debut in Week 6.
The Ravens will officially be playing their backup quarterback when they take on the Falcons on Sunday.
Head coach Jesse Minter told reporters in his Friday press conference that Jackson is out with the ankle injury he suffered last week, which means Tyler “Snoop” Huntely will start at QB.
Edge rusher Trey Hendrickson (finger) also won’t play on Sunday.
“Both of them, feel really good maybe headed after this week,” Minter said. “But that’s the way we’ll be. A ton of confidence in Snoop to play really well. I think everybody on the team is excited to see that and [for] him to have this opportunity.”
Could Jackson play next week when the Ravens take on the Browns? That’s still to be determined.
“It’s always going to be in the best interest of the player,” Minter said on Jackson’s timeline to return. “And the timing of it, just knowing probably today that this was going to be the scenario. To Lamar’s credit, he’s working his tail off to get back. So I think, don’t know the specifics of next week. But I know he’ll be doing everything in his power to get back.”
Jackson has completed 70.8 percent of his throws for 967 yards with six touchdowns and one interception so far in 2026. He leads the league in yards per attempt (10.1) and yards per completion (14.2).
Hendrickson has recorded one sack and three QB hits in three games so far this year.
The Ravens full injury report with game statuses will be released later on Friday.
Falcons left tackle Jake Matthews made his 199th consecutive start last Monday, but the streak is at risk of ending on Sunday night.
Matthews is listed as questionable to face the Ravens due to the groin injury he suffered in Atlanta’s win over the Saints. Matthews moved up to full practice for the first time this week on Friday, which bodes well for his chances of being in the lineup even if head coach Kevin Stefanski said the team will wait to see how he responds before making any firm plans for Sunday.
Three defensive players are also listed as questionable for the game.
Defensive ends Za’Darius Smith (concussion, neck) and Samson Ebukam (hamstring) join linebacker Divine Deablo (hamstring) in that category. All three players were limited participants in Friday’s practice.
It looks like the Ravens are unlikely to have quarterback Lamar Jackson when they play the Falcons on Sunday night.
Jackson is not practicing on Friday, according to multiple reporters on the scene. He has not been on the field all week since sustaining a sprained ankle during last week’s victory over Tennessee.
While head coach Jesse Minter told reporters earlier this week that Jackson could play without practicing, backup Tyler Huntley is likely in line to start.
Jackson has completed 70.8 percent of his passes for 967 yards with six touchdowns and one interception so far this season.
Huntley completed 8-of-9 passes for 63 yards and rushed four times for 16 yards in relief of Jackson last week.
The Ravens will release their full injury report with game statuses later on Friday.
While Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson remained out of practice again Thursday, safety Kyle Hamilton returned to full participation.
Hamilton was limited by his ankle injury Wednesday.
Jackson is not ruled out for Sunday night’s game against the Falcons, but his ankle injury has kept him in rehab this week. Tyler Huntley will start if Jackson is out, with rookie Joe Fagnano as the backup.
Outside linebacker Trey Hendrickson (finger), cornerback Marlon Humphrey (hamstring, calf), and center Cam Jurgens (concussion) did not practice again Thursday. The Ravens acquired Jurgens in a trade with the Eagles on Wednesday.
Offensive guard Andrew Vorhees (foot) returned to limited work after not practicing Wednesday, and offensive guard John Simpson (groin) and wide receiver Zay Flowers (foot) remained limited.
Wide receiver Rashod Bateman, offensive tackle Ronnie Stanley (rest/toe/ankle) and wide receiver Chris Moore (ankle) were full participants. Moore and Bateman were limited Wednesday, and Stanley did not practice on Wednesday.
