As pointed out earlier in the day, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell has sent a letter to the governors of 44 states urging the adoption of a law aimed at protecting young athletes from being reinserted into games or practices after suffering a concussion.
In lieu of listing the 44 states that don’t have such a law, here are the six that do: Washington, Connecticut, Oregon, Virginia, New Mexico, and Oklahoma.
If you live in any state other than those listed above, now’s your chance to get involved. Contact your legislators, track down the relevant government websites and send e-mails to as many of your state lawmakers as possible, write letters to the editor of the newspapers, and do whatever else you can to put this matter on the radar screen before a local tragedy does.
