A Bengals-Leon Hall reunion could be coming

Longtime Bengals cornerback Leon Hall is a free agent for now, but injury circumstances could mean a reunion is coming soon.

Bengals Coach Marvin Lewis told reporters after Tuesday’s practice that the team and Hall have “had conversations” and that there’s interest from both sides.

Hall took some visits through the offseason but didn’t sign a contract, and a reunion has always seemed somewhat likely. Injuries early in camp might make it necessary.

The Bengals lost first-round cornerback William Jackson III -- at least for an extended period and possibly for the season -- to a pectoral injury. Third-year cornerback Darqueze Dennard also has a sprained ankle, Lewis said Tuesday.

Hall, 31, was a first-round pick of the Bengals in 2007 and was a starter when healthy until last season. He still played in 14 games, made four starts and had two interceptions last season. For his career, Hall has started 105 of 121 games, has 26 interceptions and has also played in four playoff games.
