At times in 2015, it seemed like Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers wasn’t himself. It’s possibly because he was dealing with a knee problem.
According to Jason Wilde and Rob Demovsky (a/k/a Olivia Munn’s favorite reporter) of ESPN.com, Rodgers had arthroscopic knee surgery in the days following Green Bay’s loss to the Cardinals in the NFC playoffs.
Rodgers confirmed that he had an arthroscopic procedure; an unnamed source called it “minor” and a “cleanup of an old injury.”
As noted by Wilde and Demovsky, Rodgers was listed with a knee injury only once all year, after he took a low hit from Lions defensive end Ziggy Ansah in November. He missed no practice time and took all but 10 of the team’s offensive snaps, explain Wilde and Demovsky.
While the injury could be viewed as a reason for the dip in his performance last season, it didn’t keep Rodgers from uncorking some of the best-thrown Hail Mary passes in NFL history -- one against the Lions in a December rematch and three on one drive against Arizona (the first one was incomplete, but there was blatant interference by the Cardinals).
