Aaron Rodgers could be back on NBC before Sunday Night Football starts up again.
Rodgers told Jason Wilde on his ESPN Milwaukee radio show (via the Green Bay Press-Gazette) Tuesday that he got some “feelers” about appearing on Saturday Night Live and spoke with some cast members over the weekend. He hopes something can be worked out, which is a pretty good sign that it will work out.
We suspect Rodgers would be a funnier host than most athletes. He was very comfortable on camera in the Super Bowl pregame show and did a terrific job with his analysis. Despite that, Rodgers doesn’t want to get into broadcasting after his career.
“As much fun as it was to be in that setting. . . . I really would like to use my talents for other things when I’m done playing,” said Rodgers. “That’s still the plan.”
If Rodgers chooses not to be on television after his career, it won’t be because of lack of options. In the meantime, we’d love to see him get in the Cage.
