The Denver Broncos high-powered offense was throttled by the Seahawks defense in a 43-8 loss to Seattle in Super Bowl XLVIII.

With their head coaching job now available, the Broncos want to talk to the man responsible for orchestrating that beat down last February.

According to Adam Schefter of ESPN.com, the Broncos want to interview Seahawks defensive coordinator Dan Quinn for their head coaching vacancy.

Quinn’s defense held the Broncos - one of the most prolific offenses in NFL history - to just eight points, 308 total yards and forced four turnovers.

Denver must wait at least a week, possibly three, if they want to interview Quinn. With the Seahawks still alive in the playoffs, Quinn is off-limits for interviews until they are either eliminated by the Packers in the NFC Championship game this Sunday, or until after this year’s Super Bowl on Feb. 1.

Quinn has interviewed with the Buffalo Bills (since filled by the hiring of Rex Ryan), Chicago Bears, Atlanta Falcons, San Francisco 49ers and New York Jets. The Jets appear to be the leaders in the clubhouse for Quinn, who happens to be a New Jersey native and has previously coached for the franchise under Eric Mangini.
