Vikings running back Adrian Peterson missed practice on Wednesday and Thursday this week with a variety of injuries, but he was back on the field on Friday and plans to be there on Sunday against the Bears as long as he can avoid any run-ins with shellfish.
Coach Mike Zimmer said that Peterson was “full-go and he’ll be ready to go Sunday” after being listed as probable with hip, finger and ankle injuries. Those issues may have kept him from practicing, but Peterson said this week that he thinks that’s just necessary maintenance at this point in the season.
“That’s part of the business. Your body gets beat up and you need days like [Wednesday and Thursday] to relax and recover and let your body rejuvenate. Let it rest,” Peterson said, via the team’s website.
While Peterson is good to go, the Vikings ruled out four players on Friday afternoon. Defensive tackle Sharrif Floyd, linebacker Audie Cole, defensive end Justin Trattou and tight end Rhett Ellison will all miss the game.
